Manufacturers explore how to hide appliances in home decoration

The market studies made by the big TV manufacturers tell them that a majority of users love to see content on large screens but, at the same time, they are overwhelmed to see a huge bright black rectangle in the center of the room the rest of the time it is not on.

How can you hide the TV? Many of the innovations that have been presented in recent years seek precisely that.

Although this is the category of technological product that most clearly would like to make the consumer disappear when they do not use it, the will to hide the devices goes beyond the screens.

The objective is that a device is not the apparent center of the room.

Samsung has created two imaginative solutions with that objective. On the one hand, Ambient mode of its high-end models is able to create a background on the TV that is permanently lit and that can mimic the background of the wall.

On the other hand, its One Connect system eliminates all connections on the screen and leaves them in a black box that can be located many meters away.

The only connection that arrives to the television to carry image and electricity is a thin fiber optic cable that ends with one of the ugliest visions in the environment of the screens: the tangles of cables.

Samsung also has in the market a screen designed to be a picture. It’s called The Frame (the frame) and has four possible sizes, from 43 to 65 inches.

Users of this device can subscribe to receive collections of art and photography with which to decorate the screen. At first glance, it is very difficult to distinguish it from a real painting.

There are more options to hide the television. LG has one that is roll-up. The apparatus consists of a horizontal box from which a screen that was rolled up rises.

This is possible because the screens that use OLED technology are very thin and made of a plastic material that, unlike glass, is flexible and can bend.

In that search for disguising the TV there are more options. For some years, Panasonic has exhibited an OLED screen in international exhibitions that, when it is off, is transparent.

A different initiative to try to avoid the big black rectangle of the TV is that of the Spanish company Miralay, which has a television model, the Vienna, in which the entire surface becomes a mirror when the device is turned off.

The user can choose a variety of styles for their frame, so that it can be part of the decoration of the room.

The mobile chargers are other usual companions that are not exactly decorative.

Nowadays, medium and high range phones usually carry wireless charge, but these chargers usually consist of a normally black circle, which are not very decorative.

For that there are some models that are installed under the tables and that can load the mobiles equally. It is a perfect camouflage solution.

The only downside is that you have to know well the exact point of the table under which the charger is located.

Also to charge the phone, Ikea has the Riggard lamp, a flexo that at its base is a wireless charger. The question is that it is but can not be seen.
